Chatting with one of our center nurses who just cam back from helping set up a new center.
Some new changes with the Nx Stage equipment to roll out "soon".

Fluid detector tray to place under the cycler, this was featured recently in a Nx Stage newsletter. Davita hasn't set up a policy for it's use yet but might in the future. They have these already at our training
center.

Warmer unit now sits on top of the cycler instead of on the side.

And the part that had us smiling and eager to get our mitts on to use for travel.... drum roll please....
Collapsible pole for the bagged fluid.  :yahoo;

Airlines and TSA agents have an aversion to the current pole, they aren't quite sure how to take care of it and they won't let you take it on the plane as carry on item for fear it will be a weapon. I'm hoping the pole will be small enough to stick in a suit case.

Hi, Funny. We already have our fluid detection tray.

I would LOVE a collapsible pole, though! Woot.

I got my cycler at home yesterday and ran my first treatment at home this morning. I have the fluid detector under my machine.  I didn't get the new warmer, although it was offered, as they just got them yesterday and I was trained on the old warmer.  Its an interesting looking piece of equipment.
