:flower; My name is Shanda. I was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Failure when I was 23 years old. I went straight on dialysis without knowing what it was or anything. All I went into the ER for was a migraine headache and then 20 mins later wind up on emergency dialysis. I was on dialysis for 9.5 years. March 10, 2009 I was given the gift of life from my brother's girlfriend. She was tested to be a match to give me a kidney. We went to the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix Arizona. As of right now I am 4 months post transplant and have never felt better. I found this site today when I went looking for normal Prograf levels of post-transplant patients. I have looked through your site and have found so many useful words of wisdom and I am glad to be a part of this group. Thanks for having me. Shanda

Yes Twirl that is a sleeping angel kitty in the clouds. I lost Toes on June 8, 2009 and a friend made her into a kitty angel for me.

Welcome Shanda.  This is a great site for support for all stages in kidney disease and treatment. I hope your new transplanted kidney works for a long time!

Welcome to our community, Shanda!!  And a big hug from us for your brother's girlfriend.    :cuddle;  Donors are heroes big-time in our IHD community.  We have a Transplant Section where you can go and tell us your story = you might be able to help someone else as they take that journey.  This is not just a forum - it is a genuine family  :grouphug; caring and sharing.  Keep reading and keep posting.
