well lets see i found out i had kidney disease (alport's syndrome) at the age of 8 from having cat scratch fever lucky me that cat scratched me i did pretty well through my teenage years i played football, basketball, and was just a rough country kid then at about 20 everything just started to get bad first i just tried to eat right and take my meds to slow it down but that didn't work so i went for the home pd and i just felt great for about the first year and a half then i got peritonitis(spell check) so i went on hemo for a while wit the catheter and then got back on home pd and about 2 years later they told me my membrane just wasn't working well enough anymore plus i had developed nuropathe(spell check) so i went ahead and got the fistula and trained to use it at home but when the time came it was just to much for me to handle plus i got a hiatus hernia so now i go to the clinic 3 days a week and its working out pretty well so yeah any ?s just ask  :bandance;

not sure if you were joking about the cat scratch fever or not, but Alport syndrome is an x-linked genetic disease...
