On the 28th of June it will be 3 years when John had his first major operation. (bladder, kidney and prostrate removed)As I said before on the 28th January this year he was taken in hospital for a life saving operation on a strangulated hernia.
John had an appointment at the Urology clinic yesterday and his surgeon is not happy with him as both hernias have come back. He has arrange a CT. scan, a full blood test and urine test to be carried out as urgent, but then he said to John see you in about a months time. We are both very worried again as John was just getting back on his feet from the last ordeal. Yvonne the wife.

Let's hope that the doctor feels it is not too awfully urgent or he would have had you come in sooner.

Hus for you.... :grouphug;

Here's hoping the test results come out alright, strange that he wants tests imeadiately but can wait a month to see him. Only thing I can come up with is they will call if anything is urgent from the tests.  :grouphug;

Yvonne I hope all goes well, if it's not one thing it's another isn't it.
Yes Sluff & Aleta  you would think (if you didn't know the NHS) that if it was urgent they would get in touch but it doesn't work like that very often.  Results come in and are filed until the appointment as a rule and getting an appointment within a month is doing quite well!

Yvonne I will be thinking of you and John and wishing you the best.

I phoned the Dr. first thing Friday morning, had to wait on the phone line for 10 minutes, was put in a queue of nine. She had no more appointments left for Friday, got one for Monday morning at 10.50. Yes, John's surgeon said when the test results come back if there was anything untoward he would let us know. He said not to worry as what happened to John was very rare and not likely to happen again (John's now had 2 strangulated hernias)

 John also had a Renal check up at his clinic last Thursday, I didn't go with him this time as there was no room in the hospital car. But on his notes that we can read on line said John was at stage 4 renal failure, any one know what this means please?
 If I'd gone with him I would of asked but John still has his head in the sand and if he had his way he would not attend anymore hospital appointments.  He said that on Friday as we were waiting to go in to see his surgeon, they were running an hour late and he said "I'm not making any more appointments after this one there is nothing more they can do for me"
I don't know what he will do when he has to start dialysis, because the Renal hospital and the Urology Hospital are about 20 miles from each other. Still we are both retired what else would we be doing if all was well  :Kit n Stik; Yvonne

I started off this thread with 3 years ago, but I made a mistake it was only 2 years ago, when John had his big operation, to remove his bladder, kidney and prostrate. Seems like we have had it forever can't remember a life without all this hospital stuff.

We have an appointment on the 20th to see his surgeon about the CT scan and results of blood test, so that was more or less a month to wait for this URGENT appointment.
But I think it must be good news as they didn't call us before. Although John's hernia on the stoma site is now as big as a melon again. Can't wear any decent clothes, lives in track suit bottoms. I'm wondering what the surgeon might do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
