In da House.

« on: June 05, 2009, 01:14:57 PM »

I just dont know how to do it or how long it will take, in sooooooooo frustrated ! Not only have i got the new 'support group' meeting and outings but a new friend has also invited me out .. i say a new friend ..because as you know my best friends have forgotten i exist ! I met this man when i was back riding (which wasnt that long ago if you remember) He came to the yard to help with a horse , he is like a Monty Roberts trainee ..you must know Monty Roberts ? He is a lovely kind gentle person who trys to help people who are having problems with their horses and all this he does free of charge , he does it for the love of horses and to give them a better life. Anyway i havent heard from him for a while not being down at the stables now , so he has emailed me ( i never thought to let him know i wasnt riding now) anyway i brought him up to date and he has emailed me back saying any time i feel up to it just let him know and if i would like to go sit in on a training session just let him know . So suddenly i feel like things are turning around now ..strange isnt it ? All i need to do now is get feeling a bit more like my old self and there will be no stopping me. I hope one day to be able to post on here about all the new friends i have made and all im up too!   :2thumbsup;

That sounds wonderful Kickstart.  I often used to find that I didn't feel like going out at all but when I did go someplace with friends then I'd have a great time and that would make me more likely to go again the next time.  Good for you and keep it going.

It is always nice to see the sun shining through the clouds  :2thumbsup;   We'll be waiting to hear about the support group and the horse trainer.   I am glad things are looking a little brighter for you   :grouphug;

Hey, hey, like the poster says, "I may not know where I'm going, but I'm on my way!"  One step at a time, no matter how small the steps are.  At the end of every day, as you drift off to sleep, recount to yourself whatever you accomplished that day.  Do not beat yourself up for things you wanted to accomplish and perhaps didn't, and don't make any grandiose plans for tomorrow.  Do what you can do, and pretty soon you're doing tons of things.  I think you're doing just fine.   :clap;

It sounds like you are doing better and better. NO RAIN CLOUDS. I couldn't imagine riding a horse. The last time I rode a horse, I was wearing clogs, just being talked into it at a BBQ out in the country. I got one foot in one stirrup and asked "How do you steer this thing?" and the horse just took off running. My brother-in-law's horse did the same thing, I thought he was racing me, but he was in as much control as I was. We were coming up to a gate, and I thought the horse was gonna jump the gate, but he just stopped. and I went flying. I had just recently been  in a car wreck (another story) and had bruised ribs and had been going to work anyway for about 6 weeks, they were about healed and I had about 6 more weeks of pain. I then decided that I was a city boy and that I would stay away from horses from then on. I was about 25 and I'm 60 now. So other than watching westerns I've managed to stay completely away from horses, NO HORSES FOR ME!
BUT        I'm glad that you are feeling better. ;)

Hurlock, your horse riding start was exactly like mine. Dang, I hit the ground so hard it bent a couple of hair pins I had in my hair. Nothing broke tho. Good bones!!!! That was my " double" ride, first time and last time.
