Learning your numbers can be jolting. And going from 79 to 21 in one year is jolting to me! My disease progressed slowly over the last 14 years, but I don't know if it was the disease itself moving slowly or something I did or didn't do.
Who knows?
Learn all you can. This site is excellent for that. You will go back to your doctor feeling so much more in control of your disease than you ever thought possible.
Welcome! Welcome! I look forward to getting to know you better.

Welcome
This is a great site. You'll learn heaps. Ask lots of questions - there's always someone who'll have a good answer (or maybe a silly one - who knows).

We are glad you joined this site. It has a lot of information but we are especially good at giving each other support. It is shocking how many people have kidney disease and how little the general population know about it. I hope you find good answers here and good friends. We really do care about each other. I look forward to reading more of your posts.

I never knew anything about kidney disease until two of my daughters were diagnosed with CKD several years ago. I think I spent a couple of years in shock, searching for answers and finding a bunch of confused doctors. I wish I would have found this group years ago. I think that anyone looking at kidney failure should be referred here. I am glad that you joined the group. I think that most hospitals will get you on the transplant list at 21% GFR even if you haven't started dialysis. Even if you have potential living donors, get listed as soon as possible.
