"Pple cant do evrythin but every1 can do somethin"

« on: May 08, 2009, 12:43:45 PM »

I am 23 years old and live in New York. I have had kidney failure since the age of 17, I assume earlier than that but I did not go to the doctor until that age. I would say since 14 years old, when I was overweight and had high blood pressure. Anyway, I had my very first dialysis treatment on May 6, 2009 which was 3 days ago and it was not so bad. Had a kidney transplant in February 2005 and it lasted me 3 years. I am very glad to be here. I researched some things on dialysis and heard some things but wanted to go more in depth with my search so I found this site. Hopefully I find out more. Thanks for having me. :)

Welcome to the board.  I must say, though, that I don't suffer from kidney failure; I enjoy every minute of it!   :rofl;

G'day and welcome to IHD!! You've been through quite a lot in the last 8 or 9 years! I am sorry your sister's transplant only lasted a few years - not what you need when you're 20 years old and want to live life!!! I hope you can find support and information here!
