why did I pick the flower: it is me a perennial ; I keep coming back year after year. As a male living in Louisvile, ky, I have learned on to survive on dialysis and become a better man for doing so. I have survived by doing two things believing in God and having a great support group. I have been on dialysis for 12.5 years utilizing the same access.
I am aViet Nam vet so I learned on to survive. My next statement is going to sound strange,so here it is I dont hate dialysis. If I hated it I couldn't cope. I endure dialysis, that way I look at making new friends and saying goodbye to old ones. It's hard losing your friends, but I enjoy meeting new ones. Each and every day is a battle if you count the things you lost and not focus on the things you have. I enjoy talking to my fellow peers each early morning. I have learned a long time ago to tell people how much you enjoy their company. You want get the chance when they are no longer there.
Thats me in a nutshell. Looking for the rainbow even before it rains. Goodspeed Bobby

You are not the only one here who doesn't "hate" dialysis. You'll meet some wonderful people on IHD. You'll love this group! I'm glad you found us.

Hi, Bobby!
You have come to a great place. Most of us here don't really hate dialysis. After all, it is a life saver.
But it sure is wonderful to have a place to come where everyone understands the realities fo of the big D.
Hope you post often.

Like you, I don't hate dialysis, but I immediately was drawn to this site as I understood the sentiment. Good to meet you

Welcome to our community, Bobby! As some others have said, we don't really 'hate' dialysis. We certainly don't like it, but we are aware that it is keeping us alive for our loved ones. The founder Epoman wanted the name of the site to be something that would stand out. Also the name allows us to be real about the things connected to dialysis that are not pleasant. No sugar coating here.
Please take advantage of all this site has to offer - information, support, and even fun. This has become more than just a website - it is a genuine family
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Bajanne, Moderator
