Hi all I have been lurking the past two years since I started dialysis. My name is Ed and I am 76yo, I lost a kidney to cancer 21 years ago and the remaining one gradually shut down two years age, I got so weak and out of breath I couldn't walk or do anything. I live in Midland Texas, and needless to say it is not the center of great medical facilities. I am very thankful that there is a dialysis center here and sice I have started treatments I have quickly regained strength and am now walking two miles every morning. I appreaciate all the good posts that are here and wish all the best and God bless you all

Ed,
Glad to hear that you beat the cancer. Sorry to hear that your kidneys shut down. I think it is great that you walk 2 miles a day. This is a great place for support and great information. Anytime you need a hug from cyberspace you can get one here. Also, all of the dialysis geniuses hang out here....they have more kidney answers than most Nephrologists.
I am glad you joined the group!
