Hi all I have been lurking the past two years since I started dialysis.My name is Ed and I am 76yo, I lost a kidney to cancer 21 years ago and the remaining one gradually shut down two years age, I got so weak and out of breath I couldn't walk or do anything. I live in Midland Texas, and needless to say it is not the center of great medical facilities. I am very thankful that there is a dialysis center here and sice I have started treatments I have quickly regained strength and am now walking two miles every morning. I appreaciate all the good posts that are here and wish all the best and God bless you all

 :welcomesign; Ed,

Glad to hear that you beat the cancer. Sorry to hear that your kidneys shut down. I think it is great that you walk 2 miles a day. This is a great place for support and great information. Anytime you need a hug from cyberspace you can get one here. Also, all of the dialysis geniuses hang out here....they have more kidney answers than most Nephrologists.

I am glad you joined the group!  :grouphug;
