Diagnosed Nov."04 with FSGS. Not on dialysis yet. Dr. had hoped for transplant before dialysis. I  have been on the transplant list since Dec.'05, but after testing several living donors, it has been determined that my antibodies are extremely high and will reject even a good match. Johns Hopkins now has my medical records to see if I can be accepted in their plasmapheresis program.  So, more waiting and testing. Kidney failure is teaching me patience and acceptance. I am good at neither!

Welcome, Paris!  Kidney failure sure does teach you patience, I'm not doing very well with the acceptance part, myself.  Glad you're here, and keep posting!

Welcome!  :welcomesign; I was gonna ask you what plasmapheresis is but then I realized I should ask you to eventually make a new thread telling about it since this is just the intro section! ;)

I am glad you are here! You can teach us a few things!  :2thumbsup; :clap;

Of course you can ask to explain a word.  That rule means that the person introducing themselves should not use this section to ask questions concerning dialysis, etc., but should start a thread if they need info.
I, too, want to know what plasmapheresis means!

This intro is almost a "month" old.  This has already been explained.  I'll try and find it for you two.
