A very resourceful gentleman. It is sad that there are so many inequities in this world that people in other countries or in remote areas don't have the same opportunities to stay alive. But sometimes that generates creative responses.

Wow cannot begin to express my amazement how this young man has taken control of his situation, built a functioning dialysis machine and successfully used it for 13 years in of all places, the bathroom of their home.
The article made no mention of infections, cramps, blood pressure drops, that can often be immediate situations of concern.
But he is doing it and doing well.
Mass credit and respect for his determination and effort.
I Pray all stays well for him in the future.

Holy crap!!! Makes me feel stupid thinking that in center hemo is bad. This proves that the toughest people in the world are dialysis patients first one guy runs the Grand Canyon with his dialysis machine then this Chinese genius builds one and keeps himself alive for 13 years. I don't think I will complain about the temperature on my shift at dialysis any more,

When you are dealing with the hassles of dialysis, it is easy to forget how fortunate you are to live in a part of the world where cost is not a barrier to getting on the hose.

I still have to wonder...... how many potential patients are in the U.S. that are not on Dialysis because they lack med care, either knowing their kidneys are bad, or are just sick and haven't gone to the ER and been diagnosed?
Any, is too many.
