My dialysis team

« on: March 13, 2009, 10:44:04 PM »

I have been on dialysis 5 yrs now and sorry to say I have fought this thing the whole way. I'm a stubborn man and don't take to change well. I have had people telling to do this and do that eat this and don't eat that I never was a healthy eater to begin with and I don't think you can make me one now. Don't get me wrong I have changed my eating habits
mostly have just reduced the Intake. My diet is the hardest thing I have to deal with each day that and my attitude. I know my bad attitude don't help and i hear people say others have it worse but all I know is I'm the one living this life and right now I'm not happy here. Right now I am fighting this huge chest cold and not feeling that well I'm on antibiotics which sucks I know I sound like a angry man and you would think after 5 yrs I would be over it but I'm not
So if I sound lost, hopeless, confused ,angry and sad yeah thats me thanks for listening

No problem; I know all those feelings.  Sometimes i think those of us who get angry about our situations and fight will last longer than those who just kind of curl up and quietly die off.  Hang in there.  You have tons of friends here!

I hate it when people tell me others have it worse.  "at least you can breathe"  Whoopty!

I want NORMAL.  I want to PEE!  I hate being hooked up to a machine!

See.... you are not alone!

I don't like it when people tell me to get over it and learn to live with it. I will fight all the way. Don't feel bad about feeling this way too. We are all just doing the best we can living with this disease and others have no idea what it's like.
