Is anyone using the large bag for draining on the Baxter cycler? I just started and have tried both the
24 ft tubing to the toilet and the disposal bag. Is there some better way to empty the bag? That sucker
is heavy. Why isn't the discharge tubing longer? Wouldn't that make it easier. Some questions, Steve

I use the large bag and my solution is that it is my husbands job to empty the bag, but I did see a post from someone, I think it is where the set up pictures are, that they put it in a little cart with wheels so that they can roll it and not have to lift it.

Will it fit in a mop bucket with wheels?

I requested a second box of tubing and ran it into my tub.  Now that it's out in my hallway, I run it into the kitchen sink.  If you do either one, remember to clean out the drain every couple of months as that dextrose really begins to build up!

Good advice. My problem is partly that I use 6 liter bags so that my drain runs in the
12 liter area. That runs 24-26 lbs. I am not supposed to lift that much(looking out for
hernias), and I don't want my wife to lift it. I guess I will stick with the double length
of tubing across the bedroom floor. A bit inconvenient but it works.

I was told by my PD nurse to limit my lifting to 10-12 lbs because of the risk of
abdominal hernias. This risk occurs with the surgery to implant the catheter.
I'm retired so no lifting at work, but to be honest I have lifted heavier items
on an occasional basis, but only one at a time. Why don't you start a new
topic so others can respond.

I agree with Steve, but my nurse said 15 pounds.  I never moved an entire box of dialysate, just one bag at a time.  Didn't work; I got a hernia anyway!
