Money available for kidney patients

1/20/09

INDIANAPOLIS — The National Kidney Foundation of Indiana Inc. is accepting applications for financial assistance for kidney dialysis and kidney transplant patients. Funded by the Indiana Department of Health, the State Renal Program helps with specific expenses. To be eligible for the program, a person must be an Indiana resident, have a medical diagnosis of end-stage renal disease and meet income guidelines. The application must include proof of each of these requirements.

One in eight American adults has some form of kidney or urology disease. The National Kidney Foundation of Indiana Inc. is an affiliate of the National Kidney Foundation Inc., the nation’s largest voluntary health organization, and is dedicated to improving the quality of life for patients and their families.

Complete applications must be postmarked by March 20. Faxed applications will not be accepted. Applications are available by contacting your social worker or the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana at (800) 382-9971.
