10 years on and off dialysis

« on: May 15, 2009, 11:10:46 AM »

Hi been back on dialysis 5 months after failed transplant and today my line became blocked with clot and unable to dialyse. Have to go
back in to main dialysis unit tomorrow. Has anyone else had this happen and did it have a successful outcome? I'm worried about any new access as have already had line on right side, current line on left, fistula unsuccessful due to extremely small veins...
Feeling very depressed about my dialysis anyway, urine output has dropped right off and struggling with fluid balance, low
hb and generally feeling ruff.

I had this happen to me, and they actully had to remove the neck catheter and give me a new one.  I am fine now and have since had a fistula place.  The good thing is that they found the clot and it didn't move somewhere else in your body.

So sorry about you difficulties, Sugarlump. I hope they get is all straightened out soon. I know you are disappointed about losing your transplant. I'm thinking of you. :cuddle;
