Grr...primary care doctor offices!

ok my turn to rant I guess. LOL
I called my PC office today to schedule my yearly exam, thinking it would probably be like a month or so wait. Haha. I think I just about dropped the phone when she said "The next available appointment for yearly is...September 1st at 2pm."
Yes, 5 months from now! I don't know what I'll be even doing 5 months from now! I may have a new kidney 5 months from now! Imagine what the wait is going to be when parents start making school physical appointments!
So I was in shock and took the appointment..I mean, atleast I'll be on the books! I'm going to call later this week and try to get an earlier one. I'll tell them I have kidney failure and need a yearly exam..maybe that'll get me up the list? Either that or I'll say I'm sick and need an appointment..I mean, I AM...

They should have your account flagged for Renal Failure, I would call back myself and make them aware of that and a September appointment is to long away to be safe, be pushy if you have to, but lord knows what could happen to you in the long wait.......

Say that Northwestern needs a current update on you for their files and that 5 months is to late., just bend the truth a little. Your not exactly lying to them
Hate to tell you, but wait till you have some doctors at Northwestern. Last month the doc's office told me after a visit that I would have to call back in a couple months to make a 6 month follow up. Why didn't they just say a year since that is what's going to happen.

Holy cow, can you find a different doc? I see mine every 3 or 4 months, there's never an issue.

Just getting to see the neph is interesting. I m supposed to see him every three to four months, but actually see him only once or twice a year. Thank God for email to them if anything comes up!

If what rerun said is true, I would be looking at the CMS statements to see if he is billing them. If he is billing them and not seeing you, well that's illegal and fraud to Medicare.

Wow...now I think I feel special...my Primary Dr has his nurse call to see how I'm doing about every 3 weeks and I see either my neph or his PA once a week and in between they are sending me to all these other appointments and checking back and forth.

I see a neph at the center about once a week. But the one at Kaiser is primary over my care and needs to make sure I am alive sometimes.
