I just joined the site. I didn't know such a thing existed !!! Awesome! I have been a dialysis patient for 2 1/2 years. I damaged my kidneys while in the U.S. Air Force. It took 23 years to come to end stage. I had a transplant in 2007 which failed.( they damaged the kidney when removing it from my sister). She almost died and because of that I have opted out from taking any kidneys from family members. So I am on "the list" until whenever.I try and live my life as normal as possible, I hunt ,fish, and my passion is Indian artifacts. I spend as much time as possible looking in corn fields for arrowheads.Sometimes it's tough. But I know maintaining a good attitude will get me through this.I go to dialysis 3 times a week 3 1/2 hrs. each time. Going to dialysis gets me out amongst people as I also suffer from a trashed lower back and was some what antisocial for awile. For that I am in a pain clinic which has done wonders for my anti-socialism. I am married with 4 children, 1 grandson and a grandaughter on the way in March 09.  My family is my life, without them I would have ended this along time ago. They keep me sane. Well I quess that enough for now. Again awesome site and I will surely return. Peace to everyone and theirs.
P.S.Try to focus on the holidays and not the needles.

:welcomesign;  Shadowlurker!  Isn't this site fabulous?  I found it by accident in Sept 2007 just before getting my 1st fistula.  I've said it before and I'll say it again, it was/is a true lifesaver!

I look forward to hearing more about you and your family.  Read as many posts as you can and soon you'll be welcoming new members like a true pro!
