Festival of Trees fashion show to benefit new dialysis center

“Casual can be elegant, darling.”

Just ask Nye Beach boutique owner Manoosh.

Or better yet, see it in person at the “Style in Winter” Holiday Luncheon and Fashion Show. Models will strut their stuff from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at the Best Western Agate Beach Inn.
Manoosh of Nye Beach will present an array of styles, from beachwear to evening gowns. “Even if you are just going for a walk on the beach, you can be beautiful,” said Manoosh.

Belly dancing and Argentine tango performances are also part of this event.

Mo's Enterprises, Samaritan Health Services, and Thompson's Sanitary Service are the show sponsors, Earthbound Beauty is volunteering hair styling and make-up, and Latitude 44 is providing the footwear.

“The fashion show is a wonderful daytime event,” said Ursula Marinelli, executive director of the Pacific Communities Health District (PCHD) Foundation. “Guests can enjoy the show and the trees, savor a lovely lunch, bid on auction items, shop in the Holiday Bazaar, and still drive home in the daylight.”

The menu includes mixed green salad, pan seared salmon with a preserved lemon oil, mushroom risotto, and New York cheese cake topped with Northwest berries. A no-host bar is available. Tickets are $40.Proceeds will help turn the dream of creating a dialysis center at Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital into a reality.

The 14th Annual Festival of Trees is presented by the PCHD Foundation.

The event opens with the Lighted Boat Parade Saturday, Dec. 6, on Yaquina Bay. It continues Wednesday through Sunday, Dec. 10-14, at the Best Western Agate Beach Inn.

This year's theme, “Celebrate the Dream,” captures the spirit of the season and the festival. Decorated trees, gift shopping, entertainment, auctions, and special events all add to the festive environment.

The center will bring dialysis closer to people living in the PCHD who rely on this lifesaving kidney treatment.

The foundation's mission is to assist the health district, in partnership with Samaritan Pacific Health Services, in acquiring equipment, services, and education, and enhancing the quality of medical care and health-related programs for the community.
