Hi,

My name is Mike, although I go by sparty83 here on the forum.  I just joined the forum after our dialysis facility manager told me about it.  I've been on dialysis for about 18 months now, although I've had IGAN for over 10 years now.  I lost a kidney last year to cancer, which forced me on to dialysis.  It has been a true learning experience, and has given me a whole new perspective on life.  I truly cherish each and every day I have now and know that dialysis helps sustain me so I can continue enjoying my family and friends.  I still work, but have dialysis three times a week for 4 hours and 15 minutes.  Kind of a long stretch, but it gives me time to do things I might not do otherwise.

I really look forward to interacting with other forum members and to learn from them.

Hey Mike!  I'm in San Antonio, too!   :waving;   Welcome!  Welcome!   Who is your Nephrologist?

Anyway, you have found a fabulous site!  You will love it here!  I look forward to hearing more about you and your experiences with dialysis.
