HELLO :)

Hi there! My name is Krista and I had a kidney transplant on June 10, 2008 - a little over 4 months ago. I'm 31 years old and I am a Kindergarten teacher. I live in Columbus, OH - GO BUCKS!!!
My brother donated his kidney to me and the surgery and recovery went perfectly. I feel so blessed to have recovered so quickly and that I was able to start back to work in August like normal.
I found this site this weekend as I was googling looking for some support sites and some answers about post-transplant living, medicine side effects, etc. It seems like a cool site, so HELLO to everyone!! I'm looking forward to meeting some people who hopefully know more than I do

Krista! We are so glad you found this great site. Congratulations on your transplant and we think your brother is a hero! I am from Columbus and most of family is still there. I went to Groveport and Ohio State. I love Donato's pizza and it is a must have everytime we visit. And a trip to the Penney's Outlet! There are several members here that live in Ohio. I think you will enjoy this site. Lots of information from people who have been through it. Please go to the transplant section and share more of your journey with us. And we a especially good at lending support. So, jump in and join the family!

It's really great to have you here. I am happy to hear that you are doing well.
Send this to your brother as he deserves a giant one -
My husband had a transplant May 14th. He is almost to the 6 mo. mark. His kidney came from my sister's husband. He's doing really well, too.
