Hello All.  My name is Janet and I'm an RN Clinic Manager at an outpatient chronic dialysis center.  I've been in dialysis for about 10 years and love my job.  I'm also the daughter of a previous dialysis patient (my father was a patient for 6 years before he passed away) and my mother was a dialysis nurse for for about 20 years.  Guess it was in the family.  I stumbled across this site while looking for research for one of my graduate classes and was hoping maybe I could get some help from someone out there.  However, if I understand the rules correctly, I will have to find another area of the site to ask my questions.  So please look on another area of the site and see if you might be able to help me out.  Thanks.  And by the way, I think this is a great site.  I look forward to participating in it.  I think maybe I can find some helpful info for my patients and put them on to it.

 :welcomesign;  It seems like dialysis has always been a part of your life.  I am sorry you lost your Dad.  Thank you for joining this great site.  You will find real answers from real people -- the good, the bad and the ugly.  There is information on every subject here.  If you can't find what you are looking for, please ask.  We love when people in the field join.  We are very glad you are here.

Welcome to the site. You won't get any sugar coated answers here, just the cold hard facts about dialysis. I'm sure you will appreciate the input.

Hi Janet and welcome.  So sorry that you lost your Dad to ESRD, that's a dreadful way to gain insight into patient needs and issues.  Glad to have you here and remember to pass the word to your patients as well about the site.   :waving;

A belated though warm welcome to our community!  It is clear that you are a caring administrator, and we are glad that you found our IHD family.  :grouphug;  It is clear that this is part of your very fibre because of your family history.  continue to do what you are doing, your patients will be the beneficiaries.  also remember, that when you need to vent yourself ( yes, you do, sometimes) this is just the place for it.
Great idea to tell your patients about this site.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
