I hope any of our ihd family (and everyone else) has gotten away if they are threatened by this storm. MIbarra? I checked our map at Frappr, but it's pretty incomplete. I really feel for those in New Orleans who are about to go through it again.

Living near the coast of NC, Marvin and I have "weathered" (no pun intended) quite a few hurricanes over the years.  However, after watching everything that happened with Katrina, we decided that we would NEVER ride out another one as long as Marvin is on dialysis.  Too scary for us!  I love thunderstorms and hurricanes (was born during one), but it's too much of a risk for us to take with Marvin on dialysis.  There's another one out there (Hannah), and we're keeping our eye on it.  The first sign that it looks like it's headed to NC, and we're out of here.

My heart aches for those people in New Orleans!

Petey - NC saves us (in VA) from so many hurricanes because it sticks out so far in the ocean.  But, we were flooded in 2003 by Hurricane Isabel and it took us a very long time to recover.  I too pray for those in the Hurricane's path.  I have spent much of the day worrying about anyone who is dealing with life-threatening health issues while trying to evacuate.  I think MIbarra was planning to go inland.
