I am married to the "evil step mother" and am daddy to Eathen a 3 1/2 year old boy who knows no strangers, and there is not an instrument that he does not know how to play (or so he thinks).  I have had a really rough time with all of this although things have gotten better in 2008 since finding my "wife". Eathen's egg donor decided early that she did not want to take care of EE and did just about everything possible to break our family apart (including cheating on me). I finally had enough and kicked her out in Aug. 07.  That was the best decision I have ever made. Since she was kicked out, of the 62 days eathen has been in the hospital she has been up a total of 6 (really what kind of mother does that to her child). ESM, has been a beacon of light in my dark dreary and depressing life. All of the history of Eathen in Evil step mother's intro came directly from me so you can read it there (I am too lazy to type it again hahaha). On Tuesday Sept 23rd Eathen is going in to have his 37th surgery a right side hip construction and that will leave eathen in a body cast for 12 weeks ISH. The picture on my posts was taken Jan 1 08 while eathen was in the hospital (yes we do share his hand, I suck on his pinky while he sucks his thumb. it relaxes and soothes us both). I look forward to being a part of this site and keeping you updated on Eathen's care and well being as well as our own.

:welcomesign; EEsDaddy. Bless your family. I didn't believe the evil step mother stuff. Your family has found the right place for information and support. Eathen is the baby of our group I believe. I'll be thinking of him on Tuesday and saying a special prayer that all goes well. Please keep us posted.  :cuddle;

Welcome to IHD EEsDaddy,

We are glad to have your entire family. Welcome to our family and I hope EE's surgery is a success. He sure has been through a lot. He will turn out to be a strong one, you just wait and see. I hope he continues to improve and you will be able to catch your breath. If we can help in anyway just ask. For now you have our support in prayer.

 :welcomesign;   We are glad to have the whole family here.   What an incredible story of a devoted father!  And how fortunate that the three of you have each other.  We look forward to hearing more of your journey and especially how Eathen is doing.  This is a great place for support, information and a few laughs.  Eathen will be in my prayers on the 23rd.  He must be one tought little guy   :grouphug;

Welcome to our community!  So glad that you joined the lovely stepmother on our site.  I am here on my dialysis machine with tears pouring down. I was so  touched by your post.  I can feel the fierceness of your love for Eathen.  My caring thoughts and prayers are with you all the way.  Please keep us minutely up to date on what is happening with him, and you guys.  Your are in our family now, :grouphug; and we are with you for the long haul.  You now have shoulders to lean on all over the world.  Tell Eathen that his auntie Aurora in the Caribbean loves him dearly.

We are now in the room at Children's Medical Center Dallas, EE is totally in his element with the ability to flirt with all the nurses and blow them kisses and serenade them while playing his diaper wipe box drum  :guitar: from his bed as he tries to bribe them to let him out of his room (is on contact Isolation so we are not allowed to let him leave the room) but that is another topic I do not care to discuss including a disease from 2 years ago that the hospital wont let go of. :rant; but we will keep you updated whenever I find out what time the surgery and things are.

Welcome to IHD.  I can tell you love your son and know his plight.  It is a hard road and you have been with him every step of the way.  Bless your heart.  I love your picture.  Kidney disease is hard enough as an adult let alone a child.  I hope he is a candadate for a transplant someday.  Not that that is a cure, but only another form of dialysis.  But, it is a better form.
