Hello Twirl, I am glad that he doesn't have cancer although emphysema can be quite nasty. Does he smoke? If so the please get him to stop straight away. This link tells you all about it if you want to know more, http://www.medicinenet.com/emphysema/article.htm . I hope things will go OK for him and that they can now stop it progressing, my friend's husband has it, he has an inhaler, he has had it for years and it seems stable. Sending love to both of you and wishing for a good outcome

So the doc is on vacation and you are sitting waiting to know if there is cancer? Wow! I am sorry for the extra days of worry you were put through. But, I am thrilled there was no sign of cancer. Take a deep breath and enjoy the weekend together.

Yay! No cancer. That is the best news possible. Emphysema can be dealt with. I wish him the best in learning how to.

You must both be very relieved. Best of luck managing the emphysema.

good news on the cancer,
make sure you check about the emphysema, it can turn nasty if untreated.

this morning at D I got a call from the doc's office who wanted my husband to have the cat scan she had been on vacation so her doc on call called us she is saying everything is normal and there is nothing wrong and the other doc says he as emphysema so I think he should go view the xray himself and let one or the other doc explain it to him

diagnosis is often nothing more than an "educated" (sheesh) game of russion roulette. by all means go have both doctors explain the x-ray. my prayers that you will find everything is alright.

Cheryl, I hope you can get answers from both doctors that at least inform you correctly. Please give your hubby a big from all of us.

Twirl, I think you should have them explain why one thinks there is nothing and one thinks there is emphysema. I hope it really is nothing, but you deserve to know why there is such a difference of opinion between the two doctors.

Although emphysema is no picnic it is better than the alternative. My well wishes for proper treatment and some relief.
