Okay. I got home at 5 a.m. from nocturnal dialysis and fed my cat, who is always hungry.  She let us sleep until 9 a.m. then wanted more food.  Yes, I fed her again. I got a phone call from a friend of mine. Her cat was having seizures and the dialysis van was doing crazy scheduling today. Could I take her to the vet and then to dialysis?  Of course I had no plans except to go to Costco.  So I took hubby's car and went to get my friend.  Her cat passed away from a cardiac arrest five minutes after we arrived at the emergency vet's office. We took the cat's body home to her house and left for dialysis.  I kept her company by her chair for the four hours.  She was in tears almost the entire time. Her Mom would call her and get her upset again and again.  I took her home and her Mom and sister helped to bury the cat in their back yard. It was strange.  I left my house at noon and got home at 9 pm.

And how was your Saturday?

Sorry to hear about your friends pet. Seems families have a knack at upsetting someone at the most unopportune time.

As for my day,"nothing to write home about"

Awww poor kitty. Sorry to hear it.

You and I were supposed to see the terra cotta soldiers today. It's on my calendar but this day was full of kid stuff. I guess it was meant to be that you were home today.

You are a truly dear friend Kitkatz!

KK that is very sad about your friends cat... since I am sure that was not expected... that is so beautiful of you to be there for your friend and stay with her. I am sure I will be in tears when that day comes for me and my little one (currently sleeping in her cat cave under the TV while I watch gymnastics)....

Just on your cat eating so much... I declared with mine she gets ONE main meal a day and that's it (it's in the evening). Yes, she has dry food to graze on during the day.. but I'm pleased to say she NEVER hassles me for food except for her dinner time. She is so well behaved..

I try to not overfeed mine so she doesn't turn into Garfield's sister... I am lucky she seems to have accepted the food rule and doesn't bug me about it :)

What a good friend you are!  I think most of us wish we had a friend as unselfish as you are.  Hope you get some rest today before the work week starts again.
