I have been stung three times this year. A hornet, a honey bee, and this latest sting I don't know what it was. I have been stung more this year than in the last ten years. This latest sting is terribe and really hurts.  :(

Yikes!  I've never been stung by a hornet but they look like their sting could really hurt.  If you know someone who smokes, take the tobacco out of a cigarette and dampen it slightly and place it on the sting.  I've tried this and it really works - but I did it right away.  Good luck!

No stings or bites this year so far. Someone told me (I think it was Monrein) that mosquitos wouldn't bite someone on dialysis. My grandmother always used a paste made with baking soda and water for stings. It works pretty good.

Some helpful things to do if stung. First don't pull the sting out, brush it away with a credit card or some other stiff object.

Wet an aspirin & rub on the sting it neutralizes inflamatory agents, but first make a paste of meat tenderizer, Adolph's, McCormick or any other tenderizer that contains Papain & cover the sting with it.

Meat tenderizer works because stings are made up of protein & the Papain in it breakes down this protein. Papain is a venom busting ingrediant.

Stings sure hurt, don't think I could stand three of them.  I really feel for you.

Sorry you got stung  again. I saw the title and thought  of Sluff with a post he made.
As for Papin, I thought I saw that sold seperately in the seasoning aisle, or is it a brand. But wouldn't a paste of aspirin and papin together be better?

It still hurts, like a shot. It itches. My Dad has bees, so I know alot of these remedies work. I couldn't find a stinger. It is on my arm.

Sorry Romona that you still hurt.
Do a stings pain usually last this long?
I have only been bitten once when I was 3 or 4, probably 3 where we lived at the time. It left a mark on my finger for years.

I hope it is better.
One time my late husband and I were camping and we went fishing at a new spot where there were
bee hives and they were far from us tho,  Anyway one came flying over and stung my husband on his forehead
and the next morning his eyes were swollen shut.  We put ice on the sting.  Barely had our line in the water.

I reached into some towels when I was at Vacation Bible School and got a stinger in my hand.
I yelled out a rather bad word  :shy; I was a student not a teacher :banghead; but still it was not a holy word >:(
then we had to get the stinger out :'(  I think I was prayed for that night!

I was leaning on the window sill to peek outside. I leaned on a hornet. Let's make it bite number 4. I am begining to suspect that the kids aren't opening a window to the screen side. I have gotten used to blood draws and things, but these stings really hurt.
