besides the chemical experiment of turning vodka into urine, vodka has other uses
1.remove a bandage painlessly, saturate with vodka ( the bandage)
2. to clean caulking around bathtubs and showers, the alcohol in the vodka kills mold and mildew
3. clean eye glasses
4. prolong the life of razors by filling a cup with vodka and letting razor soak, it disinfects blade and prevents rusting
5. spray vodka on vomit stains, scrub with a brush, and blot dry
6. apply to face to clean skin and tighten pores
7. add a jigger to shampoo bottle, cleans the scalp , removes toxins and stimulates the growth of healthy hair
8. fill a 16 ounce spray bottle and spray bees and wasps to kill them
9. one half cup vodka and one half water and make a slushy, reuseable ice pack for aches and pains and black eyes
10. vodka will disinfect and alleviate a jellyfish sting
11. cure foot odor, wash your feet with vodka
12. pour vodka over the area affected by poison ivy and remove the urushinol oil from your skin
13. swish vodka over an aching tooth, allow your gums to absorb some of the alcohol to numb the pain
14. to relieve a fever, use a washcloth to rub vodka over your chest and back as a liniment
all the more reasons to buy plenty of vodka

you can use vodka in recipes

Flip      this recipe calls for 1/2 cup of vodka    it is a lasagna recipe    you mix it with the sauce for 5 minutes then you add a 1/2 c of heary cream

if I do not use the vodka will it make a difference in the taste

Mix vodka with vanilla beans and you get really good vanilla - not the junky stuff in the stores. . .

Actually my kahula recipe uses vanilla beans, coffee, sugar, water and vodka. Kinda spices up the good ole Nepro. Almost makes me want to go to dialysis.

To be perfectly honest, I have never cooked with vodka. I use bourbon and wine. I put beer in chili.

Try this with the vodka: Place the bottle in the freezer for a few hours or more. The silky liquid becomes lightly syrupy. Chase the vodka with a fine chocolate truffle. Let it slowly melt in your mouth as it joins the vodka - supposed to be lovely stuff.
