I can fly!!!

« on: July 28, 2008, 01:18:19 PM »

Hey everyone I wanted to show you the letter we just sent out. IHD Family, I know how tight everyone's finances are so PLEASE don't feel like you need to donate, I just wanted to share this with you since we are walking to honor Susie. Also you can check out our caringbridge site even tho I know several of you already do. :grouphug;

Dear Family and Friends- As many of you know Otto is waiting for his 2nd kidney transplant, what you may not know is that on May 13th Otto had to start Dialysis. We as a family have struggled with this and never want anyone we love to go thru this, that is why on Oct 11th Team Machado will be taking part in the "kidney walk" being held by the National Kidney Foundation. Team Machado will be walking to Honor Otto and Dani and also in memory of my friend Susie who lost her battle with kidney disease in February. We are asking for our family and friends to support us by any size donation that is tax deductible, checks can be made out to National Kidney Foundation with a note that it's for Team Machado, you can also go to the link below and make a on-line donation. All money raised is kept here in MN to help educate the public and offer free kidney screening. The NKF also helps family's in financial need and also medication costs. Otto and I would also love to have you j oin our team and walk with us. We also will attach Otto's caringbridge site that can keep you up to date with his journey and also now Dani's. I (amy) am also asking you to PLEASE forward this to your family and friends to help Otto and Dani's story be heard. Keep on smilin.....Team Machado

Good Luck Lola!  How awesome that you guys are #1.

We participated in Boston's kidney walk in May.  Our's is at local zoo, so it's very easy to do and a lot of fun.  Yeah for you guys!   :flower;
