A question for those of you who do nocturnal dialysis.  When you travel I'm assuming you have to switch to regular session (3-4 hrs 3 x weekly or whatever the case may be).  How does that work for you?  Do you still feel pretty good during that time or do you feel the difference immediately?  If you do "decline" alittle, does it take a while to get back up to speed when you return to your nocturnal schedule?

Jay, do you do regular session now or are you totally new to dialysis?  I'm predialysis, but my neph. wants me to do nocturnal when I do start.

I am on conventional now at home 3x a week.  I started this summer in July, I was also on 10 years ago but just did selfcare at the hospital.  I absolutly love this home dialysis, mind you  I am still not totally sold on nocturnal yet,  it all comes down to which is going to make you feel better in the end.  I will give nocturnal a try for a month and if I find I don't like it I can switch to short hour daily.

All I can tell you is my Neph said he is "losing more patients to transplant than to death with nocturnal dialysis".  That sounded pretty good to me!   :)
