Thank you to every one for all the info regarding the belts.  My abdomen was reacting with the tape causing rashes - ugh!.
My surgeon suggested securing my catheter to my exit site bandages, but that's just really bulky!

WellBound offers belts to secure your catheter, but they told me the belts did not come in my size (I'm too petite).
My surgeon told me to just tailor it myself or take it to my tailor to customize it!

Lastly, the nurse at WellBound told me that one of her patients just tucks the end of her catheter into her bra! Perhaps, I'll ry it!

I tried tucking mine into my bra, but had several problems with that. First, it just wasn't very secure, I always felt as if it was going to slip out. Second, in order to get it up into the bra, it pulled a bit on my exit site and got quite uncomfortable after about a day. Just my experience with it.

By the way, I've gotta share this...my nurse told me that one of the docs in the neph practice I go to REQUIRES that his patients keep their exit site covered with gauze, etc all the time. I told her that when he had to have tape on his belly 24/7 and started running out of new places to put it after 2 or 3 days and his skin is raw and torn from the tape, then he'd have the right to tell me what I HAVE to do. Damn, I'm usually pretty easy-going and compliant, but give me a break!!

My PD catheter was presternal and exited from my chest.  I sewed little pockets into my T shirts and slipped the transfer set into the pocket during the day.  At night I was always afraid of twisting and turning and pulling the tubing out so I came up with another device.  If you look at a clip-on ID badge there is a little plastic loop that goes through the badge and it has a clip to attach it to your clothing and a snap to hold the badge.  I removed one of these from the badge and placed the plastic loop around the tubing and clipped this to what ever I wore to bed that night. If you don't wear anything when you sleep I can't even begin to think about where you would place the clip...  I also used the clip during the summer when I didn't wear a T shirt and clipped the tubing to the inside of a short sleeved shirt,

Ok, aldente, it would probably work for a presternal cath...though your idea of the ID badge clip sounds like a great idea! When I first started, they didn't have any 12 inch transfer sets, so they gave me an 18 inch one. With all that length, I had no idea what to do! I ended up buying a package of baby socks and I would safety pin one to the inside of my clothes each day, then coil my cath and tuck it into the sock. Worked great until they gave me the shorter transfer set!

I guess I'm the worst patient in the world when it comes to PD.  I never cover my exit site except when I'm going to see the doctor (and half the time I forget then), and my catheter dangles most all day long or just gets tucked into the belt of my pants.  Yet in 5 years I've never had a problem.  Go figure.

:waving; I have tried so many different things to hold my daughter's cath. But without a doubt the ones I got from Stickman were the best. They was nicely, white so you can BLEACH them. My daughter leaves her's on all the times except for showering. We also do not cover her exit site, except if we are heading into really heavy public places. 5 yrs on PD and her site has never had an issue ( Knocking on wood !!  :2thumbsup;) At first when the site was new we covered it, but I think AIR is the best a dry site, just me I guess but keeping it covered and moist breeds bugs. But the belts from stickman and someone mentioned them in another post are really nice belts. Good luck and ENJOY ENJOY ENJOY
