I think sometimes we have to come up out of our pit of sickness of pity or whatever and see the world and people around us. Sometimes we are so involved in us we forget other people are watching us and learning from us.  Just once in while "seize the day", like the kid says, and notice someone and say hello;ask how they have been and really lsiten to them; then sink slowly into your pit again.  It might lighten your area for awhile!

I just read this thread again. I think depression can be a big part of dialysis. Coming here, ranting and sharing, and even getting some advice, makes it a bit easier. You are right Kitkatz!

I was on Prozac for about 6 or 7 mos. I recently stopped taking them because I am  feeling better and now I am adjusting much better to this new lifestyle. I am not saying anti-depressants are bad, I am just saying for me personally I realized that if I just opened up more and talked about my frustration and sad  feelings, I could be OK without having to depend on one more pill to be happy. I also was gaining a lot of weight which I didnt like either.  Prozac did help though when I really needed it, so if you do need something for short term, then anti-depressants are a god-send, but people should only take them for about 6 mos anyways.
