Dialysis Schmalysis!
The lengths I go through for PD..hehehe

So um, I've been working my way through various forms of dialysis-- in-center hemo, NxStage (twice), Allient...and PD, which I tried for several weeks,a couple of years ago, but had a problem with peritoneal leaking. I talked to my surgeon the other day and he mentioned the possibility of having a surgery where my lungs would be pinned up out of the way, so that if I have leaks during PD, that it wouldn't affect my lungs.
Have you ever heard of such a thing? And yeah, I'm just crazy and desperate enough to consider this option (but not right now, I can't possible take time off for my umpteenth surgery and the hospital is already chasing me around for 6k from a previous procedure, hehehe).
Somebody better come up with a cure for FSGS damned fast before I have to hire a witchdoctor to move my mind and soul to the body of some succulent young (healthy) thing!

Treasure,
having your lungs pinned out of the way sounds horrible
I don't know anything about it but just don't like the way it sounds
you are a pretty girl
and I wish you happiness

Ah, Twirly, you're so very kind! Yes, moving the lungs around does sound very extreme, doesn't it? It'll have to be a last resort...but the way things are going, we might have to resort to that!

Well it sure sounds like a pretty unattractive option but so does any number of ESRD related procedures. A description of a fistula creation or a biopsy or a transplant make most people cringe too.
All the best Treasure with whatever has to be done. If and when you find a witch doctor for that mind and soul transfer, please send along his/her contact information, I want the body of some succulent, healthy young thing also.
