I only just read this today and am so sorry... Skye was beautiful...
have you read the book Marley and Me? It is going to be a movie but the book has to be so much better.
Marley dies of old age. At the very last of the book his owner is out of town and Marley thinks the wadded bed sheets are his owner and he sleeps beside the bed waiting for his owner to get up.... The things he does when he is afraid are hilarious..Skye looks just like Marley.
I am thinking about you... :'( :-*

I am so sorry about your darling little dog.
It must have been a difficult situation for you to deal with.
I hope things are better now and that you have good memories of your little furry friend.

I am  so sorry.  Dogs are such an important part of the lives of the people who love them.  They are like our children.  My dog is a large female black lab.  I love her like she was a child.
Soon you will be able to remember the good times and the love between you will always be there.
Wishing you love and peace! :big hug:

Rob showing off his pot of gold!

« Reply #30 on: April 16, 2008, 08:06:56 PM »

Thank you all for your kind words.  It was very rough at first to be away from my Skye-Girl, but knowing that she is not hurting is what got us through.  We ended up getting a puppy, since Luke was severely depressed, it was so hard to watch him miss her.  We see so much of Skye in this puppy, he acts just the way she used to, very playful, gives lots of kisses and has the cutest wiggle butt.  Skye was all of that and more.

Yesterday was her birthday and my son sang happy birthday to her, it was very sweet.

Thanks Twirl!  This new puppy definitely keeps me smiling, Scooby is very mischevious!  We still miss Skye, but we know she is in a better place.  Rob hasn't replaced the picture of her on his laptop desktop, he likes to see her every day.

I have to get Scooby to a trainer, he is getting so wild and out of control!  He's smart, but likes to be lazy, definitely a fault of our own.  I'll post pics of him later, he is getting sooo big!  Almost as big as Luke!

I'd love to see some pics of Scooby.  I seem to have missed this thread before but my niece Syd who is ten and visiting for two weeks noticed the title and your name Skyedogrocks and so we read it.  We both felt your sadness but are glad that Scooby is with you now.  Syd has a silver locket I gave her with a picture of her last dog Casey, a chocolate lab in one side and a picture of her current dog, Lucy, a greyhound/husky mix in the other.
