Ever wondered if you offended someone and they will not tell you about it? Seems there is a retirement party for a teacher I know this weekend. I have worked with this lady for eight years, ever since I have been on campus. I was not invited to the retirement party. I was asked if I was going by another teacher, and I said I had not been invited so I knew nothing about it. Oh Lordy, my feeling are hurt again. I know i was;ly probably an oversite, but still...

You should go to the one retiring and tell them you are sorry but you won't make the party.
I'm sorry you were left out though.

Yes we had a similar thing with a family party, it was 2 years after my husband had died and his Uncle was 80, everyone was invited except my boys and I, I felt hurt but decided worse things happen than not being invited to a party. Never did find out why they didn't invite us, but told myself it was their loss and it saved me buying a present
Try not to feel too hurt

kitkatz, it has to be a mistake, please go, the teacher may think you were invited and did not want to go, I mean, there is no reason not to include you, please go and eat an extra piece of cake for me.......

I'm sure it was an oversight but it still doesn't feel good to be excluded and have to wonder about it even for a second. I'm inviting you to dinner right now to make up for it.

That is nice Monrein. Thanks for the dinner invite. I cannot go because I do not know where the party will be, I was not given an invitation. I know it is silly to get hurt feelings but I have them. Oh well. Got to put the big girl panties on and deal with it.

I received a group email not too long ago from my BF thanking everyone for coming to her party and what fun they had, blah, blah, blah. I emailed back and said "I wasn't aware you had a party, but I'm glad you all had fun." She swore up and down she sent me an email invitation.
Oversite or not you would have, or should have, heard about it earlier. I'm sorry your feelings were hurt. I"ve been there soooo many times.
