I think I may have some scar tissue that is causing me some major pain. I cramped a little bit last week at treatment, but that usually doesn't cause me much pain and certainly not so much pain that I cannot stand up straight! I have some scar tissue from surgeries I had when I was a baby, and I think that is what is causing the pain. If I press down on my abdomen, I feel a hard mass, and it hurts when I cough as well. I don't know whether I should call my doctor, or just let it be. I may tell the NP at my unit tomorrow, and see what she thinks I should do.

Anything that seems/feels odd or that is painful should be brought up with a medical professional to get it checked out.  I would get it checked out regardless of what the NP tells you.

A doctor would be best to ask. Atleast the doctor can order some test, scans, ect.

I talked with the nurse at my GP's office and now I think it is just a keloid- so there isnt much I can do. I will keep an eye on it and see if it hurts more.

Hmmmm, How long have you had the scar.  In my experience the longer you have it the less likely it is to cause any pain.  Keliods are pretty nasty and I would assume you would have known that's what it was long before now.  But then you know what they say about assumtion...
