I am a new LPN grad (May 07).  Dialysis is the only thing I've done as a nurse.  Our clinic was privately owned until the first of the year.  Davita bought our clinic.  We thought we had it bad before.  WOW!  I'm seriously looking for other work now.  I love my patients, but I don't feel I can give them proper care and keep up with all the little micro-management details that Davita is so anal about.  I kinda feel like I'm abandoning them, though, but, with our skeleton crew, I don't think I'll be missed much.  I really used to enjoy my job.  I tried to make the patients' time with us a little less unbearable... I am so disillusioned.  :banghead;

Oh, and I have a naked cat named Gaspard!  I recommend a Sphynx cat for everyone, even those who aren't "cat people"!!!   :guitar:

 :welcomesign; I love your name.

Davita has been trying to buy my center for some time now and I hope it never happens.

I already have the 4 cats from hell and I don't think I'll add any in the near future.

 :welcomesign; ToD. Sorry about your job.  What a demoralizing situation to be in; I hope you find a better spot soon.

I've seen those naked cats at cat shows, and I LOVE cats, but I also love FUR, so I'm not sure how well I'd do with a sphinx. Check out the thread for pet pics in the off-topic section; I'd love to see pix of Gaspard and hear more about him.

welcome to our community!  You have come to just the right place to vent concerning Davita.  This site was started because its founder wanted someplace where he could be frank.  He was fed up of  being censored by Davita.  Now this site has become a real family, and we are always ready to welcome another member.  :grouphug;
But I would still like to encourage you to stay for the benefit of your patients.  Patients need caring people around them.
there is lots to read here, so read and read.  also, post and post.  Please post a picture of your cat.  i want to see what it/he/she looks like.  We have a thread here  for pets.

Welcome to ihatedialysis TOD,

Keep up the good attitude and hopefully things will remain positive for you. I hope you enjoy yourself here and that you can gain knowledge or share knowledge often, not only here but in your work as well. Thanks for stepping into the Davita fire pit. There are some here who like Davita and some who don't. You will get all perspectives here because this is the place where you can have a voice either positive or negative.

The owner of the site got tired of his posts being pulled about dialysis and its problems.  So he started this site.  Welcome! I can only hope things will get better for you work wise soon.
