hello everyone, soo glad IHD is here !!!  like the SUBJECT says '' WHATA LONG STRANGE TRIP"  54y.o. male ,married 33yrs. to the best woman on earth, 2 boys-great guys,been diabetic for 15yrs. I very much enjoy the outdoors, hunting,fishing, camping anything outside . live in the upstate n.y. area . staring straight down the DIALYSIS barrel , hope i make the right decisions . still alittle scared for a big guy 6'3''  i've chosen PD and i'm getting the catheter soon !!!  so much to understand !!!!  I have a great SUPPORT system around me but can still use the knowledge and wisdom from everyone on this forum                    "LIFE IS LIKE A BOX OF CHOCOLATES"

Glad you found us also, I think PD was a good choice because your you can do it at home and the diet restrictions are less stringent.

March 2001 - December 2001 - Hemo Dialysis
December 2001 - Kidney function improved dialysis no longer necessary
October 2006 - Kidney function started to decline
May 9, 2007 - Listed at Baylor Dallas and Fort Worth
October 12, 2007 - Started PD
May 13, 2008 - Kidney Transplant from a deceased donor

 I forgot to mention i was a PAINTER for 36yrs.[ house and commercial ] so if anyone has any painting ques. i'll be more than happy to try to help with an ans., if i can .
and yes BRENDA , i have ALOT of fishstories ,i can share with you & BOXMAN .

i am a 51 year old male on dialysis for 3 years now. This is my second time. My brother donated a kidney to me about 13 years ago. I found this site on another site. I had to laugh when i saw what it was called. I hope to meet people from all over to talk about dialysis.
