I've been liberated......Again!

My graft has been working consistently well for long enough that today I was able to have my catheter taken out. Oh, it feels so good to not have something dangling out of my chest 24/7. And in a couple days I can SHOWER!!! I'm trying to be realistic and tell myself that this access will not last forever, but I'll take every single good treatment it provides while they last.

Very good news, Adam!
I hope that access lasts you a long, long time.
My husband said his first shower after such a long time-
was just so wonderful. He also said it is amazing the
things we all take for granted- being able to shower is
one of them- you really cannot appreciate it until you
cannot take one.

It's been a long road for you Adam, I'm glad that you are finding a little easier road, even if it seems like a little gain take what you can get.
Good for you.

Showering and peeing. It really is the little things in life that count. I was especially happy to get rid of the constant itchy feeling that went along with my subclavian catheter.

I hated the subclavian catheters. Mine hurt constantly. I cried when it came out from relief.
