Today I overslept and missed my dialysis, which usually begins at 5 am. I called to reschedule and they told me "Come in at 7:30 tonight." I hate the fact I'll be going in darkness. I don't like the drive there in daylight. Now I'll be there until 11 tonight. I hope it goes well. I am such an April Fool- and it's all my own fault!

I feel for you. I don't like driving at night, either and some roads are especially hard to navigate in the dark. It's stressful!

I love evenings.  My scheduled time is 6:45 to 9:45 p.m  My husband drives me to and from the clinic. It's less than 10 minutes from our house.

That sucks being late. Once i was late and the poor guy after me had to wait for his chair. Since then i have a old wind up clock i use.

i am a 51 year old male on dialysis for 3 years now. This is my second time. My brother donated a kidney to me about 13 years ago. I found this site on another site. I had to laugh when i saw what it was called. I hope to meet people from all over to talk about dialysis.

Hope you made it home last night, it's a bummer anytime our routine is broke. Sorry you overslept but I'll tell ya if I could only oversleep once I would be proud.  :)

Don't get down on yourself because you overslept...it's just a goof, but in the big picture, not a big deal...I hope the evening session went well and that you made it to and from safely.

It went okay at night. I knew the head nurse and she was very pleasant. I fell asleep about a half hour in, and she woke me at 11 when it was time to go home. I was in my usual chair. The dialysis unit is in the basement, no windows, so everything looked the same to me. I drove home, no problem. Thanks for your comments. It turned out to be no big deal. April fools!

That happened to us once.  Hubby woke in the morning looked at his watch.  Saw the time turned over to go back to sleep and his eyes popped open!!  He realized his watch said 7 a.m.  Called me to ask me what day it was.  he jumped up when I said Saturday.  we were supposed to be at the unit by 7 and it was over an hrs drive.  The power was off and we had an electric alarm clock set!!  had to call say we were going to be late and go without any breakfast because no power plus we were late. Bought a regular alarm clock after that!!  They made fun at us at the unit fo being late!!!
