14 years ago my wife and I met and got marries, Even as my health declines she stuck by me. I ended up on Dialysis and eventually received a transplant. She wanted children , so did I but my health history was full of crap including my families. Heart disease , cancer , diabetes everything. We opted to have a donor step in for my part of having a child. We researched several banks and found Ca. Cryobank. We found  a  perfect donor. Matched my looks andhair color. Had her eye color.  We went withthis donor and on the first try we a point of making sure he would be healthy

He is now 10 . He seemed botherd by something and I found out . that since I was In the hospital for 18 days and now on dialysis he might end up the same way. We had considered telling him about his Creation but did not know when or how.  Well this was the now as he was asking questions.

I started out telling him  about genes and genetics and how you get your looks . hair colors etc. He then said that
you can get healthy problems like the same way. We told him we insured he would have good health and explained to him about artificial insemination.  He understood and was very happy that we had planned him to make sure he would not be sick like that.  He seemed to understand everything and was not angry as many
children are when they find out.  He is a very good boy and this morning crawled into bed next to me gave me a hug and asked if he could put his cold feet on my warm legs to thaw them out. Of course I did as I am his dad and will do anything for him

That's right...you ARE his dad.

What a wonderful thing you did in making sure your son would be healthy!  That is one of the most selfless things I've heard in a very long time.  Your son is one of the luckiest kids on the planet. :cuddle;
