I don't know about the other females on this site with transplants... but my scar is so low I can't show it. LOL
I can show about 1/2 - 3/4 of mine, the rest goes under my knicker-line!

Rimbo,
how often did you have to visit Baylor/DTI for doctor visits, blood work etc. after the transplant and how soon were you able to drive care yourself? I am wondering, how long time will I need transportation help after the transplant.

Today is my 3 week anniversary. My parents are still driving me to my appointments at DTI. So far all three weeks I have had appts 4 days a week but if there are no issues, you should expect to go for clinic 3 times a week for the first three weeks. I'm now on 2 days a week, so this week I went today and will go on Friday. They say you can't drive a car for 4-6 weeks. So next week I'm going to ask when I can start driving. I would think next week or the week after I should be able to drive myself. The reason why I feel that way is I feel I can drive now but next week I have another surgery to remove my PD catheter.
You will be very pleased with Baylor when you have your transplant, they were absolutely fantastic. Have you gotten your date set yet? Maybe when you have your transplant when I'm over at DTI I can swing by and meet you and your wife.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks for the comments Rimbo.
I have not set the date yet, but it is most probably going to be in mid October.
How long did it take for your brother, before he was able to drive again?

My brother was out of the hospital in one day and driving the following week. He waited 8 days before driving. I've started to drive a little, just short distances from my parents house.
Update on my transplant:
My creatinine (sp) has been hovering between 1.4 - 1.6. I have been feeling great with the except of some swelling issues in the privates area and the tenderness. I still take pain medicine everyday but have been walking about 2-3 miles a day. It's great having the energy back. On Monday I will have my first glofill test done and they will be reducing my prednisone from 20mg to 10mg per day. I take 4 1mg Prograf and 4 250mg Cellcept along with many other antibiotics, BP medicine, cholestrol, and heartburn meds.

I was driving myself after 4 weeks from the transplant. Dad (my donor) was driving within days. Probably not a good idea, but he can't be told!

Bump for Devon to read...
Sorry Devon, you'll just have to read through all the chat. Thought I had posted my experience in a seperate thread but didn't.
There are several people on here that have gone through and used Baylor (Baylor of Dallas and Baylor All Saints)
