What's the best thing u can get this time of year? 4 many people its just a gift of giving, im the type of persom that doesnt celebrate this time of year...but on 12/6/07 it changed for a Minute! @ 1:30 am i recieved a call, telling me to get to Philly as soon as possible. I stay in DE, I called my wife at work and she came and got me. I was informed that i was #2 they took blood and sent me back home. It's a 3 hour ride one way. @ 3 am got the call n went back, went in 4 surgery at 8:30...out by 11:30 had to go back in at 1:30 because of bleeding in stomach...it set me back a few days. Through out it all i had wifey by my side. Then the worst thing a transplant patient wants to hear.."Kidney starting to show signs of rejection"..Doctor started me on steroids, which make u evil..to make long story short i stayed a total of 3 weeks. Dont let anyone that having this surgery is a walk in the park...It's Not! Just started snapping at everyone...including medical staff, but made it throuhg so far..jus dont like the buzzing.(guys you kno wat im tlkin' about) but through out it all i must admitt my wife, oldest daughter(18), and granddaughter (8) has dealt wit the most shit and is still here for me, and i owe them BIG!!!

Some people are affected so badly by the heavy dose of steroids they have to take at the start of anti-rejection therapy that they develop 'prednisone psychosis' and really begin acting like ordinary psychotics.  Most people, however, just get grouchy for a while, which sets in around a dose of from 0.5 to 1.0 mg/kg of body weight per day.

When I received my transplant the ups and downs were just part of the whole thing .
Your Wife , Daughter and Granddaughter are sticking by you because they care for you .
They need to know that the  "grumpy's" are from the medicine . The best way to pay them
back is to get well and continue to get stronger everyday .

Good Luck
