My friend was told that because of her weight she would need double dialysis or stay on the machine for 8 hours a session.  What is double dialysis?

My guess is that she might need to do 6 days a week instead of the normal 3 days

I have heard of larger patients actually using two dialyzers on the same machine, or even two separate machines (connected to the same access) so they can get adequate dialysis. I don't know much about this practice, and I don't remember where I read about it.

I do not agree with that at all,  i know you all dont believe this but i am considered a "large" woman  ::)   Well, that is not how they said it but that word sounds nicer than that damn O word (obese) bleccch,  :banghead;  lol,  and i would definetly have her talk directly to the surgeon to see if it is possible.  Good luck and please keep us posted.  :2thumbsup;

How about pleasingly plump? Maybe they just mean longer runs?
