Living Donor Buddies is a program administered by Living Donors Online! (LDO) that matches potential living donors with people who have already gone through the living donation experience.
For more info go to: http://www.livingdonorsonline.org/buddies/buddies.htm

Posted today by Michael, administrator:
As we mark a new year, I thought you'd be interested in a new milestone at LDO--the posting of our 200th living kidney donor buddy!

In addition, we have had 38 people sign up as living liver donor buddies, four bone marrow donor buddies, two living lung donor buddies, and one small intestine donor buddy.

That's a total of 245 donors who have volunteered to help potential living donors through the donation process.

I don't know if this is the organization she was talking about, but my mom mentioned possibly doing something like this. She donated to me 26 years ago, and is in great health.
