I was sitting in the barber's chair tonight when my barber asked if I'd ever heard of Paul Potts.  The first thing that came to mind was Pol Pot, the late dictator of Cambodia.  But Paul Potts, who was he?  She said you've gotta check him out, just google him up when you get home.  Ok I said, I will.  Paul Potts is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1k08yxu57NA

I already have his CD on my Christmas wish list.   Watching Simon face as Paul was singing was priceless.  He has been on a couple of talk shows lately.  What an incredible talent.

My barber said his CD is available at Target.  She was going down to get one after she closed the shop.

MyssAnne, Italian music is beautiful not always because of the lyrics, it is the passion in which it is performed. I'm big on italian type opera but hardly understand a word of it. I feel it in my soul and it can be very moving.

A very latecomer to this thread, but I had to add my piece.  I also saw him on Oprah's show and was moved to tears.  From then, I have been checking out all I can on YouTube.  I hope to get the CD one of these days.  My credit cards aren't so healthy these days since I am unemployed, but when they are again, you know what is the first thing I will buy!
I will do what I used to do with my daughter years ago.  We would put on classical CDs at night, with no lights on, maybe just moonlight and just listen together.  Very precious and moving.
BTW, it means that I had a teenage daughter who not only appreciated hiphop, reggae and dancehall, but also classical music.  I did some things purposefully,  like taking her to art galleries, and watching B&W movies with her.  I had been so dismayed with the lack of appreciation of my teenaged students for things like that, I was determined my daughter would be different, and she is.  It has not stopped her from appreciating the modern things, but she does not despise the classical ones.

I finally checked this out ... he is absolutely awesome.  I watched three times and all three times I had tears rolling down my face!  I then watched all of his youtube videos, and I will be buying his CD.  It does my heart good to swell like that and be so joyful for such a humble guy.  God truly blessed him with a great gift and a gentle humility; I would like to know more about his family.

I believe we owe Simon a great debt for bringing us so much talent that would have never been recognized without his efforts.  I wonder if you combined the revenue for all of his discoveries what that astronomical figure would be.

Me too.  The parents of the children you taught were lucky as well.  He who changes the life of a child, changes the course of history.

I don't think that's the person your barber was referring to. I'm Cambodian, I think I know who they're talking about,"Pol Pot." He's kind of known for being the "Cambodian Hitler." Here's a link, sorry you'll have to copy and paste.

Love "Paul Potts" though, he sounds awesome! :clap;
