I sign up a while back and haven't posted anything yet so I guess I'll start here. At the age of nine I was diagnosis with "Wegener's Granulomatosis," which slowly damaged my kidneys. I started dialysis when I was sixteen years old and now I'm twenty five, I've been on the transplant list for over four years now, so my time is soon to come *cross fingers* I also have diabetes but that was not the cause of my kidney failure and I'm completely blind in my left eye due to hypertension. Besides all that, I guess I'm a pretty normal and happy person  If any of you would like to chat with me I have all the messenger programs, I  friendly people. |

1972: Diagnosed with "chronic kidney disease" (no specific diagnosis)
1994: Diagnosed with FSGS
September 2011: On transplant list with 15 - 20% function
September 2013: ~7% function. Started PD dialysis
February 11, 2014: Transplant from deceased donor. Creatinine 0.57 on 2/13/2014

i am a 51 year old male on dialysis for 3 years now. This is my second time. My brother donated a kidney to me about 13 years ago. I found this site on another site. I had to laugh when i saw what it was called. I hope to meet people from all over to talk about dialysis.
