Hi,
I'm Hephziba's wife and he asked me to join here too, as we quite often look here together. Firstly I want to say how much I appreciate this site and all the people who post here. It has been so helpful and reassuring. We have found out more here than at the hospital.
Heph & I married almost two years ago, and three days short of our first anniversary, after a routine bloodtest, he was rushed into hospital and told he was very ill. Within 24 hours, they had moved him to a specialist renal unit about 1 hour away and had a temporary line in and were dialysing him. Neither of us had any idea what was happening and we were really scared. Nobody really told us anything and the doctors and nurses seemed to forget that we crash landed in the middle of all of it and left us a little bewildered.
It has been a pretty rough ride since then too, he had six infections, during 9 months on hemo, and seemed to spend more time in hospital than at home.
On PD now though and doing much better. This site has really helped though, as a place for information and also just to vent feelings that not many other people understand.
Anyway, just wanted to say hi and thank you for the site.

Welcome to the site. The spouse of a critically ill person goes through a lot too. Feel free to jump in as "another view" of things. I'm glad you like the site. It has helped me a lot too.

Welcome to the board, I'm glad you're here. I'm the wife of a dialysis patient also.

A continued welcome to the board. I share your sentiments exactly. Although some people have been knocking this board, only seeing negativity, I, like you, know that this is the place where I was able to understand what was really going on and to get concrete help and advice (and the scope to vent as much as I wanted).
I really appreciate spouses who jump into this experience with their partners. As they say in French "Bon courage!"

Thanx for the welcome!
As someone not on dialysis, it is really hard to understand where Heph is coming from sometimes,
but this site has been really helpful in getting valuable insight.THANK YOU... Also good to know there are other spouses here.
