Is it just me or do other people find this ? I went to another forum tonight , may i quickly add not D related , just a general forum mostly around frugal living and saving the pennies. I wanted a bit of diy type advice , well talk about sarcastic . From well if i was buying your house i wouldnt think twice i would walk straight out ...what ? Hell lady i wouldnt give you my house ! To the fact i had put my sofa is chocolate (meaning in colour) never thinking i would have to add the word COLOUR. I got replies like i suppose you have a chocolate teapot as well and a chocolate fireguard ..haha. and these are grown adults. Hmm , i wont be posting on there again ! Do you come across this ?

if you don't go tot he forum that much, this may be a style of the regulars.  I've been to sites like that, and it's a bit off putting to people who are new to the site.  They don't realize that their jokes are irritating

This seems to be normal and I just shrug it off mostly. I see it on automotive sites I go to and when I look for adivice on tech products. Some responces I report on depending on what is said.

I think the trick is to find a site with DNFTEC under the nasty posts.  (Do Not Feed The Energy Creature!)  I keep right on going if I end up in one where the tone is constantly mean.  What's the point?  I don't want to listen to someone else spew bile just because they think it makes them look witty.

Yeah the majority of forums are fairly decent that i visit , i think what makes it worse is one jumps in with a clever comment , then everybody else follows on.

Try this place Kicks. http://www.ultimatehandyman.co.uk/forum1/index.php
It has the sobriquet "Niceland"

You could also try http://www.tradestalkforum.com/
That's where all the posters went who got thrown out of Niceland because they were not nice enough.

I have a hammer.  I am not good at DIY. Neither is Blokey ... this explains why the two shelves we bought in IKEA three years ago are still in their boxes.

A few years back when I was doing Weight Watchers I would go to their forums and there were some great, supportive and helpful women/men there and there were a ton of very snarky women there.  No snarky men that I can remember.

Because alot of people want to do WW on their own and not pay the fees they would go to the site and ask alot of questions and such, but God forbid someone ask "How many points is a xxxx"?   They would get attacked by people to do pay the WW fees and say things like "We pay for that information" and "That is trademarked information and you need to join if want to get that info", blah, blah, blah.  I agree that you shouldn't just go there and get all the info free and move along, but I think the answers could have been much nicer and explained in a manner that wasn't mean and sometimes offensive.  I posted a low point potato soup recipe that I had gotten from another WW friend, that is delicious BTW but sounds kind of yuck, I got responses like "Sounds like garbage and I wouldn't fee that to my dog", etc.  They all stayed away from "fat comments" and the like, but they could be so mean and disrespectful that I stopped going all together.  I was so shocked and pleasantly surprised when I found IHD.

Speaking of color, our male ragdoll is called a chocolate bi color, not a brown bi color in any book or by a breeder. When speaking of something not in a food topic, it is known that one is talking color and not food. Some people are idiots Kickstart.

Now I'm going to go and have some chocolate and not my cat!

It takes a lot of work to establish the type of rules we use here on IHD.com. Epoman ruled with an iron fist and it helped to keep these forums going in a good way.  Thanks to our admins they have continued his legacy.
