The protocol for our clinic is to set the UF rate to 1.5 and the UF volume to how much fluid you want to remove.  If the UF volume is 0 (zero) we still set the UF rate to 1.5.  Actually, the UF rate of 1.5 has been preset.

I'm interested in learning what values others use when setting these parameters?

I set my volume for whatever I need to take off, and the rate to whatever I can handle. I can't handle having the rate any higher than 1.0, otherwise my BP goes south. If I need to take off a lot of fluid, I'm just on the machine a bit longer.

I set mine according to the fluid I need to take off so that it takes it off in two hours.  I find that usually gives me the shortest run time that way.  I can handle up to 1.3 for a UF rate, and I usually don't need it that high - my fluid gains are rarely that big.  My last session I was .5 over my dry weight.  With .3 added for rinseback, that made a UF goal of .8, so I set the UF rate to .4
My rate isn't preset, so I adjust it on each run.

Thank you for the two responses I received.  This is helpful.
