Let us introduce ourselves:
My Husband "BrokerLindsey" and I, "Gram2Twinz"  live in Rockford, IL and in July 2007- my husband began in center HD with Davita.
We have recently began our training on the NxStage One and are eager to bring our new "partner" home this coming week.  Today being Thanksgiving, it's appropriate for us to give thanks to all those here who offer their support and heaping helpings of helpful advice and information.  We are so grateful to have found this forum and are eager to interact with all of the great people here.
From both of us here in Rockford, IL....... :waving;

I like your cartoonish picture... welcome to ihatedialysis.com.

I 'm glad you found us and picked the perfect day to post your introduction. We the Admin team of IHD and affiliated sites sometimes run out of ways to welcome new members with out repeating ourselves, so whether or not it sounds repetitive it comes from the heart, I want you to know we appreciate the fact that you took the time to introduce yourself and that you took an interest in us.

Hi Boxman55 - I'm a big Packers fan as long as they aren't playing my Bears. I even wear my cheese head hat to watch the games.

Thank you all so much for the warm welcome!
I love this place! :thx;

We brought hubby's NxStage home today with all the boxes and boxes of stuff. The centrifuge, the fax machine, the 48 boxes of therapy fluid and more 2x2 gauze pads than I ever ever seen in my life! Aand so much more...Ha!
We have cleaned, rearranged and set up a "medical lounge" in our basement bar area. It's quite cozy and should work out great for us, we think that having the "lounge" will allow us to move about the rest of our home as usual and we're lucky to have the extra room to be able to do it that way.  Our nurse trainer from Davita will be here 2 days next week while hubby is on- just to make sure we're doing things safely.

We are interested in hearing about your home setup, any tips to organizing supplies? Favorite comfort items to have near by?  Mood lighting, special attire for the caregiver? Perhaps a nurses outfit with heels perhaps? (Ya gotta have fun, right?) Laughter is one thing we have lots of, each and everyday!

Thanks again for the warm welcome- oh yeah- We watch the Chicago Bears :(, the Green Bay Packers  ;D and the Fighing Irish  :'( and the Indianapolis Colts.....who did I miss...oh yeah- The Cubby's too!  ;D

i am a 51 year old male on dialysis for 3 years now. This is my second time. My brother donated a kidney to me about 13 years ago. I found this site on another site. I had to laugh when i saw what it was called. I hope to meet people from all over to talk about dialysis.
